How we care for your information

  • Kept in India. Your parish's records, and every backup of them, are stored in India.
  • Seen only by those your parish authorises. The parish priest, the parish office and your SCC Coordinator each see only what their role needs.
  • Sensitive actions are recorded, so there is always an account of who did what.
  • Tested before it is trusted. Independent security specialists will test BLEST before any real parish data is used.

Built for India's data protection law

BLEST is built to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025, ready before their main duties begin on 13 May 2027, and will be reviewed by independent legal counsel before any real parish data is used.

  • You are told what is collected and why, and you give consent before registering.
  • A child is added only by a parent or guardian.
  • You can ask to see, correct or erase your information by writing to privacy@blest.in. Sacramental register entries are kept permanently by the Church, and this is explained before you register.
  • Every privacy concern sent to privacy@blest.in is answered within 30 days.

For parishes and dioceses

Under the DPDP Act, your parish is the Data Fiduciary: it decides why records are kept. BLEST acts only on the parish's instructions and gives it what it needs to meet its duties: consent records, parent and guardian controls, access matched to each person's role, a record of sensitive actions, and records kept in India. Your parish or diocese can ask us for a full account of how BLEST protects its records.
